This works on a macbook pro with my acco8nt . Briefly,
Log in with X-window forwarding:
ssh -X -Y user@firefly.simcenter.utc.edu
Then start MATLAB:
/opt/ohpc/pub/MATLAB/R2020b/bin/glnxa64/MATLAB
A X-window should pop up.
