bio233, ch6, DNA helices, bases, 3d structures

Finished a portion of of chapter 6.

DNA helice and structure: I used a Swiss PDB viewer, combined with clicker asked students to figure out 5' and 3', what bases  are they.  What is a right-handed helex.

On the numbers of genes in E coli, I asked them to search for the number of genes in human genomes. Students found different numbers: a 2012 papers says 23K.

Worked on the board with stem-loop structures.
